The Method

One method, four movements

Inductive study means going to the text first and letting it speak for itself. Magnify walks you through it in order — the same discipline taught by Robert Traina, Howard Hendricks, and Kay Arthur.

1 · Observation

What does it say?

Color-mark key words and themes, split clauses, name their relationships, raise questions — see what is actually on the page.

2 · Interpretation

What does it mean?

Develop each question with cross-references and five-step word studies, weigh the possible readings, and settle each section's point.

3 · Application

What does it mean for me?

Walk the FACTS questions, bridge from "then" to "now," and land on one concrete commitment.

4 · Synthesis

What is the one idea?

Gather the sections into a single sentence — then read, print, or export the whole study as a PDF.

About Magnify Inductive Bible Study Editor

I'm Steve Hall, pastor of Mayflower Hills Baptist church in Roanoke Va. For fifty years I have used Inductive Bible study as my basic and primary method for uncovering the meaning and applying the truth of God's word — the inductive method I learned from Professor James Schuppe at Washington Bible College and from Dr. Howard Hendricks at Dallas Theological Seminary — the method that I use that forms the basis of every sermon I preach.

Magnify is the tool I built for my own weekly study. It's free because the method changed my life, and I'd like it to change yours. Nothing to buy, nothing to sign up for, nothing watching over your shoulder — open it and use it to study God's Word.
